The Christmas lowdown with Totter + Tumble

Susie is the founder of Totter + Tumble. Her interior design-led, memory-foam playmats are based on the founding principles of Simple, Stylish, Supportive and Safe. Plus they feel like heaven underfoot! Susie also founded Christmas Curated in 2019 after recognising the desire her Totter + Tumblers had for supporting small brands at Christmas, alongside the struggle small businesses faced being discovered amongst the marketing and big sales of the big brands and retailers. Christmas Curated is about collaborating, helping each other and helping you.

This Christmas is going to be a little different this year for many families, what have you got planned?

Well, our Christmas is always a little different as it is also our eldest child's birthday! We really hope that we can be together as a wider family on the day, mainly for her as she absolutely adores Christmas, but also as her grandparents are so involved in our children's lives, it will feel especially cruel for them to miss her birthday too. But otherwise we will be at home, with a walk in our local park in the morning and filling our tummies in the afternoon! What are your favourite Christmas traditions?

Our Christmases have never been a grand affair for either me or my husband, but leaving santa and the reindeer their evening nibble is a gorgeous one. For me, opening stockings in our pyjamas, all snuggled up in bed is my absolute favourite. Who’s gift are you most looking forward to choosing this year and what have you got planned?

I've already bought my dad a Family Rule- I have gone for the new Scandi style and he is going to love it. We are not huge on presents on my side of the family, preferring experiences instead, but I know he is going to love marking on all the grand children's heights as they grow up. It is also really nice to treat him as his 70th birthday was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Who’s the trickiest to buy for and what have you got planned?

My mother in law has five children, who have always gone to town on her Christmas presents, so there isn't much left!! One thing she has in common with my husband though is that she is very sentimental so a Memory Case from Memino fits the bill! What’s your decorating style?

I am useless! Luckily my daughter, the Christmas birthday one, takes over (aged 5) and spends about a week making decorations. For the tree with have a fiesta theme which mirrors our wedding! What’s the one thing that makes Christmas, Christmassy for you?

Family. Quick fire round! Roses or Quality Street? Celebrations Charades or pictionary? Both - we have a games night on Christmas Eve with fabulous friends Xmas Pudding? Cake, not pudding!

And finally, what are you hoping to find in your stocking this year?

A large mug to have my Christmas morning brew!
